Wedding Photography : Leah + Greg

Filed under: Photography — candid reflections @ 5:30 am

I met Leah and Greg one year ago  this month.  Leah called me from North Carolina last year to arrange an engagement photo session , a friend had recommended my photography.  So last May,while they were visiting family and making arrangements for their upcoming wedding, they squeezed in a photo session with moi!  Leah and Greg are such a fun couple, we hit it off instantly!  Being as they are super photogenic and just plain fun to be around, I was feeling pretty thrilled when I learned that I’d have the honor of another photo session  with them this past winter, before the wedding! (The wedding package they selected included an engagement session)  I love it when I get to spend time getting to know a couple before their wedding, I feel like I’m able to get a better feel for who they are, which helps in my attempts to capture their wedding day in a way that truly reflects them.    But now that the wedding’s all done, and Leah and Greg are home safe and sound on the other side of the country, I’m kind of starting to miss them!  Hey guys, maybe we could bump up that newborn photo session by a few years?  he he he 😉

I love how my job provides opportunities to meet and work with so many great  people!

Leah + Greg : The Details

Filed under: Photography — candid reflections @ 9:18 pm

Greg wrote Leah a completely romantic letter which was delivered to her room before she stepped into her dress.  I don’t know what it said, but he was able to draw out every emotion within her – from laughter to tears.  Swooon…

There’s just something about this picture that makes me hear salsa music in my head when I look at it!  Soooo fun!

Leah + Greg: The First Look

Filed under: Photo Sessions, Photography — candid reflections @ 9:50 pm

Last weekend, we had the honor of photographing Leah and Greg’s beautiful wedding day.  The weather was gorgeous, the venue delightful, and the couple an absolute dream!  Greg and Leah are one of the sweetest couples.  I loved spending the day with them and witnessing their love for each other.  Leah was the most organized bride, with such a caring heart (not to mention, she’s stunningly beautiful!)   And Greg was such a patient and caring groom,  he is Leah’s knight-in-shining-armour – not that Leah needs to be rescued, but dang, he sure makes her look safe and secure when she’s in his arms!  What an absolute honor it was to capture such a spectacular day!

I have lots more pictures to share, but for now, I leave you with The First Look:

Behind the Scene

Filed under: Photography — candid reflections @ 9:52 am

On Saturday, I had the privilege of photographing the lovely sisters of Two Sisters Planning.  They were setting up for a beautiful wedding reception and invited me to come snap some shots of them in action.  I thoroughly enjoyed watching them at work.  Normally, when we work the same event,  at the time that Georgia and Bobbie are doing the kind of things you see in the pictures below, I’m off somewhere else taking pictures of the bride putting on lipstick, or the groom trying to find matching socks, or maybe we’re past all that and they’re laying eyes on each other for the first time that day.  I love my job and I can’t imagine a place I’d rather be than right there along with the bride and groom, enjoying the events of their magical day as it unfolds.  I’ll tell you what though, the weddings that I’ve photographed which have had these two lovely ladies behind them have been some of my favorites – the brides are relaxed and calm because they know that all is being taken care of by Bobbie and Georgia, I sure do love calm brides.  Not to mention the fact that the things that these sisters create are eye candy to my camera.

It was such a pleasure to get a “behind the scenes” glimpse from Georgia and Bobbie’s perspective, as they are leading among the many key players involved in carrying out the perfect event/wedding.  These sisters have some mad organizational and creative “pull-it-off” kind of skills, I enjoyed this opportunity to capture them in action.

Some New Products

Filed under: Photography — candid reflections @ 6:15 pm

Here are a couple of new products that came in the mail last week.

1.  Super fun accordian books!!!  Very sturdy and a perfect size to carry in a pocket or purse, OR  open out and display proudly on a shelf or desk.

2.  I had lots of fun designing this CD case and I’m thrilled with the quality of it – I sure do love my lab!  I’m excited to be working on a list of “up and coming” new products.  Looking forward to sharing them with you!

Baby Ballerina Photo Session

Filed under: Photo Sessions, Photography — Tags: , — candid reflections @ 2:25 pm

I’ve recently had the privilege of photographing my good friend’s most precious little toddler girl… sapphire eyes, cotton candy lips, and golden curls- it was such a delight!  I was in much need of some practice with the toddling type, you know, the ones that don’t have time for poses, nor care to offer up exclamations of “Cheese!”  I’m so grateful for my time with little Miss S. – she gave me some practice being “on my toes” which are nowhere as cute as hers, I must add!

A Formal Wedding with A Costume Celebration

Filed under: Photo Sessions, Photography — Tags: , , — candid reflections @ 9:36 am

On Saturday, Ironman and I photographed a candle lit wedding, with the help of the best assistant I could ask for, my sister Suzy.  Then we had fun snapping shots of all sorts of characters during the reception, as the couple encouraged their guests to change into costume to help them celebrate.

I love the way he loves her.

The groom slipped into “something a little more comfortable” for the reception.

And what’s a costume party without a little karaoke?

A Fun Gift Idea

Filed under: Photo Sessions, Photography — candid reflections @ 6:28 am

I recently had someone request a gift certificate for a newborn photo session to give as a baby shower gift.  I had a lot of fun designing one for her:

                                                                                                                                                 ~ F R O N T ~

                                                                                                                                                 ~ B A C K ~

and I know that I’ll have even more fun honoring it, because taking pictures of newborn babies is one of my favorite things to do!

I thought that the gift certificate was such a fun idea that I’m offering them up as an option to anyone that may want to give them as Christmas gifts, birthday gifts, anniversary gifts, babyshower gifts, etc.   Check out my website to see prices for photo sessions, email me if you’re interested, and I’d be happy to personalize a gift certificate for you!

Brittany+Ben ~ Part II

Filed under: Photo Sessions, Photography — Tags: , , — candid reflections @ 1:21 pm

All eyes are on Ben, and do the looks on their parent’s faces not tug at your heart???

Ben and Brittany wrote and read their own vows to eachother, very heart-warming.

See… I told you.

Brittany’s sister and brother-in-law made the wedding cake (if I’m not mistaken) and cupcakes… beautiful, and delish!

Congratulations Ben and Brittany, may God bless you abundantly!
