Honeybees, Baby!

His labor is a Chant~
His idleness~ a Tune~
Oh, for a Bee’s experience
Of Clovers, and of Noon!

The honeybees have  finally arrived, yay!   They arrived in this box last weekend, and they were feelin’ a bit couped up to say the least.  You could hear their buzzing from several yards away!

Transporting these babies from this cardboard chariot to their new home, sweet home required a steady hand. I knew that wouldn’t be mine, so I signed up to take the pictures instead, shutter release buttons don’t sting do they?

Now we watch and wait for these girls to do what they do, my mouth waters with anticipation!

  4. That’s so funny Lacie! Truth be told, I’m really not too afraid of them, in fact I was wearing jeans and a sweatshirt when I shot these pictures… nuts, huh? I’ve only been stung once, when I was twenty-four. It was during a wedding in Montana, I had slipped my heels off during the ceremony, and near it’s closing I slipped my foot back into my heel and it felt as if I’d crammed my toe into a shard of glass- a bee had crawled in there for a little siesta! My toe instantly began to swell, and needless to say I did very little dancing during that reception. I was bummed, but at least I finally had an understanding to people’s reactions at the site of the cute little creatures. I don’t laugh any more when I see people like you run like Forest Gump at the site of a bee! 😉
