When this catalog arrived in the mail from Gospel For Asia a few weeks ago, my husband proposed that we make it this year’s shopping/gift list. It took me a few days to come around to the idea, and now I must say, I’m quite excited by it!

We do delight in giving gifts to our children and wouldn’t dream of missing out in such occasion. We also delight in the opportunity to stretch and nurture them into loving and generous people. So, what better season to really decrease the focus of ourselves, and rather focus on blessing others!
Tomorrow begins our first evening of advent. It is then that we shall propose to the children this plan of giving to those with greater needs than our own for Christmas, rather than heaping up for ourselves all of the unnecessary “stuff” that we so easily get caught into drooling over this time of year.

We’ve never really made Christmas the focus of receiving gobs of stuff, so something tells me that they will soon be climbing on board.
